RSC Theatre Visit
A group of Sixth Form drama students had the opportunity to
visit the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon.
The visit gave students a unique introduction to the world of
theatre with opportunities to work alongside staff and artistic
teams behind the scenes at the RSC. Candidates followed the
processes involved in bringing an RSC production to the stage,
focusing on The Tempest, which is currently being directed by
RSC Artistic Director, Gregory Doran.
Students worked within:
Scenic Arts
- Building, painting and designing the set.
Digital
- Working on live motion capture (CGI) and
3D projection.
Marketing and Promotions
- Interviewing the actors and
creating promotional and marketing material (posters, tickets
and flyers).
This all went towards a mini production of Act 1 from
the Tempest which took place at The Royal Shakespeare
Company’s ‘The Other Place’ in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Music Assemblies
This term our music students have been showing off their talents before assembly each morning. We have had singers,
drummers, pianists and even a xylophone player. The music has been uplifting and provides a great start to the day! Videos are
