Enrichment Clubs
Please see below this term’s enrichment schedule. Students should look to see if a club or
activity is designated for a specific year group or open to all years. When a student decides
which clubs and/or activities they would like to attend, they should simply arrive at the room,
on the day at the appropriate time and the staff member in charge will register them.
Students DO NOT need to pre-register or obtain specific parental permissions prior to attending
the club.
Regular attendance to clubs and activities is important for student development both
academically as well as emotionally and socially. Please ensure that if your child has chosen to
attend a club that they attend regularly. If they are unable to attend for a week, they should
notify the staff member in charge so they will be aware of their absence.
Please visit the school website to view and download the most up to date calendar as clubs
may change each term:
.
For more information, please get in touch with our Enrichment Co-ordinator, Mrs Taylor.
LNR ACF Cadets Stand to Attention for Armistice Day
In remembrance of our wartime heroes, students and staff across the whole of Northampton Academy fell silent for
Armistice Day.
In the courtyard area, cadets from LNR ACF (Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Rutland Army Cadet Force) Anzio Detachment,
led by SSI Grimes, showed their respects in full uniform to honour our veterans. After the two minute silence, the cadets
remained to attention whilst ‘The Last Post’ was played out across the Academy followed by a moving poem ‘In Flanders Fields’
read by Matthew Bates, Head Boy.
“In Flanders Fields” by John McCrae, May 1915
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
