I started my career in teaching in 2018. I had previously been a learning support assistant at Northampton Academy. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to train at the same school. The course began with a 2-week summer school, which was invaluable to me and made me feel supported for the start of my training.
After completing my ITT year and NQT year, I felt confident in teaching independently in the classroom and loved the freedom of working with my own classes. This year, I was offered the opportunity to mentor a trainee teacher, and I have loved working with her. It has been fantastic to see the development of another teacher whilst also keeping myself up to date with current practice. I feel my career grows from one height to another, working in United Teaching. I am excited to continue growing as a professional.
