On Thursday 4th March, we celebrated World Book Day. As a school that celebrates and encourages reading, this is an event we look forward to every year.
Throughout the day, students listened to the story 'Paradise' by Tim Collins at the start of each lesson. There were competitions, including a creative writing challenge to write the next chapter of 'Paradise', further details available from the Library. Also, a 'Who's Reading' competition, where students guess the member of staff hidden behind a book. In addition, several staff members dressed up as characters from well-known books.
We thank the author Dan Freedman, who recorded a special message for our students. Free copies of his book 'Born to Play', part of the Jamie Johnson series, were available to Year 7 students to collect from the library. Dan is a regular contributor to our 'LitFest' events.
Our Digital Leaders have chosen some books relating to social media/being online for World Book Day. You can see them here >>>
