Students at Northampton Academy are today celebrating their A Level success, which has seen all those who applied to university successfully securing a place – including a record proportion going to top Russell Group institutions.
There was also a number of students who enjoyed particular success, including:
- Shelley Auguiste, who achieved an A* in Maths, and As in Further Maths and Physics.
- Lydia Walkley Bartlett, who achieved straight As in Maths, Chemistry and Physics and is going on to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath this September.
- Neil Patel, who achieved As in both Maths and Further Maths and has secured a place at the University of Birmingham to study Computer Science.
- Gabriela Stelpe, who has been awarded a place to study Fine Art at Loughborough University after achieving her grade A for Art.
Lesley Powell, Northampton Academy’s Assistant Principal for Sixth Form said, “These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students during their time with us and I am extremely proud of what they have achieved. In particular, it is pleasing that all those who applied to university have successfully gained places and I wish them all the very best of luck in the next stages of their lives.”
Congratulating the students on their success, Principal Nat Parnell said, “I am very pleased for our students who are celebrating some excellent results today and for those who will be going onto the universities of their choice this autumn. I know that our students have worked incredibly hard and so it is gratifying that this has been reflected in some strong outcomes.
“I would also like to thank our staff team, who have worked tirelessly to help students achieve their best and likewise to our parental community who have supported students throughout their studies.”
Shelley Auguiste commented, “I’m really pleased with my results and looking forward to now going onto university to study physics.”
Neil Patel said, “I’m really pleased I got my first choice of Birmingham University. I look forward to doing a master’s once I’ve completed my undergraduate degree.”
Gabriela Stelpe enthused, “I really wanted to go to Loughborough. I wasn’t sure I’d get a place so I’m really happy to know that I’ll be going in September.” Mr Hunter, head of Art said about Gabriela "It has been an absolute pleasure teaching her, an unbelievable work ethic and a great deal of talent she has will take her a long way".
There were many other successes including Manon who is going to Queen Margaret and said "It's the best feeling in the world!" and Elvira Matei, who gained an A* for English Lit, an A in History and a B in Psychology couldn't sleep for worry and is really happy and relieved to be going to the University of Manchester.
