In November, Nucleus STEM students received a lecture from Northampton Academy’s own Mrs Bell about the waste industry and various career paths. From project management to waste collection and incineration, we learnt about the range of jobs and the required skills. In addition, we learned that studying a certain subject could lead not only to jobs within the waste sector but a range of other careers, some of which you would not expect. As well as this, we were educated on how the waste industry is involved in our everyday life and where each stage is present. Overall, the STEM students from Years 7 to 10 were enlightened on a whole new sector filled with new possibilities for the future.
