The Book Bingo Challenge 2023/24 lasts up until 12th July 2024 and is for ALL staff and students in Years 7 - 13. It isn't a race; take your time to read books you enjoy.
How to play:
- Check the grid (image attached) to see which prompt fits the book you next finish (ask a librarian if unsure). Choose only one square per book.
- Collect a Bingo Reading Log booklet of the colour for your year group (found in the library) and answer a few short questions about the book you have just finished. Only log books you have been currently reading - not books you have read in the past. Booklets are kept in folders in the library throughout the challenge so they don’t get lost!
- You’ll be given a Bingo Challenge Bookmark for you to keep. Use this to track your progress & help you choose books to fit the prompts.
- A member of staff will check your Reading Log & stamp the grid; then you’re ready to collect your first prize!
- Continue as above to win the prizes below. Photos of booklets and reading tracker bookmarks are attached for you to see, along with the grid.
Prizes:
- One square completed = a free fun bookmark of your choice
- One whole line = a token for the book vending machine (located in the canteen)
- Two intersecting lines (that cross each other) = £8 book token
- All 25 squares/prompts = A £10 Amazon voucher & Word Millionaire badge
Top tips:
- A book guide is available in the library with suggestions of titles for each prompt if you are stuck
- You can read books you borrow from any library or a friend and books from home
If you have any questions, pop into the library and speak to a member of staff or a student Library Leader.
GOOD LUCK!
