Michael Ellis MP, took time out of his busy schedule to visit the school and to give support to Mr Clyne in his campaign to get road safety improved in the area outside Northampton Academy.
Before the planned meeting with the Highways Agency, Michael held a 45 minute Q&A session with a group of students, answering a range of challenging questions on issues such as the recent General Election to knife crime. The students enjoyed the opportunity and were very positive about this experience.
Then followed a very productive meeting with the Highways Agency. We should be seeing new signage placed outside the school to encourage people to drive carefully, plus we are also hopeful that the start of 40 mph zone will be moved further down the Wellingborough Road, instead of being so close to the school gates.
