As part of their centenary celebrations, the BBC are visiting secondary schools all over the country, reaching approximately 400,000 students. In each session, carefully selected BBC ambassadors will share their inspirational journies with students, in a bid to inspire them through the power of storytelling.
‘BBC100 Share Your Story’ came to Northampton Academy and was well received by students and staff. The BBC ambassadors shared their motivational true stories with the students, covering events in their lives that they have been through and overcome. Students were offered an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the ambassadors, including their stories and careers. The stories were all related to our values of determination and ambition and were uplifting, showing students that no matter what they go through, they can still achieve their goals.
Each session has been developed to support the PSHE curriculum in goal setting and overcoming obstacles. The tour, produced by BBC Children’s and Education, is designed to inspire young people to achieve their goals and help them realise their ambitions.
