Year 7 student Zak enjoyed meeting up with Oscar, a university Games Design student who has just completed his degree at the University of Northampton.
Already bitten by the gaming bug, Zak put questions to Oscar in a bid to find out more about this exciting career pathway. Asked how he developed his passion for games design, Oscar admitted that playing games led him to consider how they are programmed and created. This fuelled his interest and led him to explore the games industry in more detail, looking into the companies and people that produced them.
Youtube tutorials taught him how to code and create games and characters. Oscar shared his knowledge about the skills that have helped him to succeed in his studies. Time management, organisation and teamwork have enabled him to achieve success in his studies and his coding knowledge. Oscar advised Zak to work hard at school and develop his coding and programming alongside his studies.
Northampton Academy Careers Department and Zak would like to thank Oscar for his time and the valuable information shared.
