Aston, a Year 7 student and author, visited Hunsbury Park Primary School to deliver a whole school assembly about his love for Astronomy. Along with his parents, Aston, who lives with ADHD and Autism, travelled to the school to share his inspiring journey with the children.
During the first lockdown, Aston wrote his first book, "The Solar System," at the age of eight. The book was a huge success, and he sold many copies worldwide, including to astronaut Tim Peake. Following this success, he then went on to write his second book, "Things About Space", at the age of ten.
Aston talked about his experiences as an ambassador for the charity UK Astronomy and his appearances on radio, newspapers and TV. He also opened a SEND conference in Nottingham. Aston confidently talked about his Autism, which he considers his 'Super Power', and encouraged the children never to let anything stop them from doing what they love and following their dreams. The children were captivated by his story and asked many questions at the assembly's end. Aston was touched that he had inspired them so much.
Two representatives from Persimmon Homes, sponsors of UK Astronomy, also attended the event. They brought along boxes of Aston's books that the company had purchased to give to the children.
