Year 12 students have been given the opportunity to participate in the 'SLT Mixer' project, which involves shadowing Year 13 students in their Student Leadership roles. This project is designed to help Year 12 students who are interested in taking up leadership roles next year to gain an understanding of what the different roles entail.
Students who shadow our current Heads and Deputies will join them in meetings with Mr Jones and Mr Atkinson. They will also attend the Student Leadership Team meetings every Wednesday, where projects are discussed and plans involving our Sixth Form student body and the wider school community are made.
During the event, Head Boy and Girl, James and Philipa, discussed the importance and privilege of being a Sixth Form SLT member. They were followed by deputies, Josh and Nessa, who talked about what the team does and the expectations. Then, each of our current Student Leaders talked about their roles, what they involve, and what they are currently working on.
The SLT Mixer Shadow project was promoted through assemblies and had 24 students attend to find out more. There was a tremendous buzz in the air, with students moving around the room to talk with the different Student Leaders.
