Students and staff at Northampton Academy went out into the local community this week to litter pick and help clear waste from the surrounding area.
The efforts resulted in a number of bags being filled with rubbish from the Wellingborough Road, collected from various areas including walkways, pavements, plants and bushes.
Taking place after school, the volunteers showed fantastic character and spirit to get involved in the initiative and help make a difference to the community.
The staff in attendance included our Principal, Mr Jones, who said: “We were delighted to see so many students and staff volunteering their services to help keep our local community clear of litter.
“We're keen to expose students to real life experiences outside of the classroom and initiatives like this allow them to learn important life skills, which ultimately will help them in the years ahead.”
