Students at Northampton Academy completed their FPQ students (Foundation Project Qualification) presentations this week. This was a culmination of over five months of work in which the students had to independently pick a topic they are interested in, research it, write a 1000-word essay and then present their findings to a group of their peers, parents, and teachers, including Mr Clyne and Mr Smith.
Some of the research topics involved included climate change, the legal and justice system, K-Pop, refugees, and the industrial revolution, to name just a few. Students spoke about how this process had built their character and enhanced their resilience after finding the process challenging, yet how they were determined to finish.
All were very proud of themselves, as were Mrs Rigby, Miss Tustin and Mr Cook who organised the project.
