Last term a team of our Sports Leaders spent the day leading sports activities in golf and cricket at the Northampton School Sport Partnership 'Spirit of the Games' festival. The festival was a celebration event for the Year 6 students in our cluster primary schools, celebrating the end of their SATS exams and aimed at assisting them in transition into their secondary schools.
The leaders demonstrated excellent organisation, communication and teamwork skills guiding the Year 6 students through a number of golf activities in the morning. Lunchtime was then spent with all the Year 6 students attending Northampton Academy in September having a picnic together with the leaders, chatting through any questions, concerns or worries about moving schools and giving the students the opportunity to mix with students from other schools prior to September.
In the afternoon the leaders demonstrated their skills and knowledge of cricket, leading the students in some really creative and engaging activities. All in all a fantastic job done, yet again by our fantastic team of Sports Leaders. It was a little bitter-sweet, as it was the last external event our Year 10 leaders would assist in, prior to them moving into Year 11. Our Year 10 leaders - Lacey, Brianna, Chelsea, Daniela, Khushi and Marisa have been integral members of our team, offering their expertise and experience to the younger members at all times with a big smile on their faces, they will be hugely missed!
Thank you, ladies, for all the commitment, time and effort you have given over the years - I look forward to working with you all again in the Sixth Form!
