In order to bring our communities closer, we have teamed up with BBC Radio Northampton and Northampton Partnership Homes to take part in their Make a Difference campaign. This project invites students to write a letter or make a recording for a resident of a local care home in Northampton and as a school of character, we believe this will inspire a strong civic foundation within our students.
As you are aware, elderly residents of care homes are facing many difficulties during this time and wanted to lift their spirits by sending as many letters of hope and positivity as possible. As a school, we wholeheartedly encourage pupils to connect with the wider community, more so during these times, and are proud of those who have given their support to this project.
Here we share the letters and recordings which students have kindly created for the residents.
Over the next few days, BBC Radio Northampton will be broadcasting the letters a number of times in their 'Make a Difference', slots which are usually approximately 15 mins and 45 mins past each hour. If you miss them, you can hear them on the BBC Sounds app.
