After defeating League One teams Huddersfield Town and Burton Albion in this season's Emirates FA Cup, Head of PE Mr Champelovier and his side will now host Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur in the third round!
Mr Champelovier is Tamworth's assistant manager, and saw the team progress to the third round following a dramatic penalty shootout win against Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Tamworth, who sit 16th in the National League, will now host a Spurs side managed by Ange Postecoglou, that contains the likes of Heung-min Son, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke.
Speaking about the prospect of welcoming Tottenham to The Lamb Ground, Mr Champelovier said: “This is what the FA Cup is all about, to be hosting Tottenham in the third round of the FA Cup just goes to show the magic of the competition is still there.
“It’s been an incredible journey so far, beating two League One teams and now to host a Premier League side like Tottenham is the cherry on the cake.
“It will be an unbelievable experience for all involved, and huge credit goes to the players, staff and supporters for getting us this far. We’ll concentrate on the league for the next few weeks as the tie isn’t until January, but we’ll also make sure we prepare in the right manner for such a big game.”
