Year 10 Jeremy Represents School at Safer Internet Day

Categories: News, Latest Academy News

Safer Internet Day was on 11th February, and the theme was online scams. Jeremy S, year 10, is Childnets' Digital Champion and, for the second year in a row, went to the BT tower in London to participate in Safer Internet Day activities along with other Digital Champions around the UK. He met people who have positively impacted the computing industry, such as those who work at Discord, Apple and Samsung. Jeremy was responsible for the pledge wall, where people were asked to make a pledge based on how they would help children stay safe from scams.

Jeremy commented about the day, "I learnt a lot of things to do with scams which I wasn't aware of, such as the amount of people that have been scammed and the different types of scams there are. I also met an MP specialising in young people and their online safety. It was an amazing experience!"
