Northampton Academy is celebrating as the Department for Education publishes its new, validated progress scores. The results reveal that, with a score of 0.87, the school ranks third out of all schools in Northamptonshire for Progress 8 and in the top 150 schools in the country for this measure.
Progress 8 is a national measure which calculates the average progress students make by GCSE, compared with other similar schools. A progress score that meets the national average is set at 0 each year, with anything higher reflecting value added to a student’s achievements during their time at school.
Compared to the national average of-0.03 and the local authority average of 0.03, the school’s score is well above average and indicates the strong progress students are making at Northampton Academy.
