The Year 8 Elite Netball Team played in the Under 13 County Netball Plate on the 23rd February 2022 at Kettering Buccleuch Academy. Northampton Academy was up against 11 other schools from Northamptonshire.
Northampton Academy won all five games in the group rounds, scoring 30 goals in total and only conceding four. The girls from Northampton Academy played exceptionally well, displaying much progress in their netball skills learnt since September. All team players worked tirelessly as a team and showed great sportsmanship.
Northampton Academy faced Northampton International Academy in the semi-final, winning 5 - 1, then they progressed to the final to play against Northampton School for Girls.
The final was a tense game as players were tired after already playing six games without a break. However, the players showed great character strength and fought hard to keep possession and win possession and case away winners by 5 - 2.
All players should be proud of their achievement and their faultless representation of our school.
