Four of our Year 13 A Level Computer Science students attended an Apprenticeship Information Evening at HMGCC (Her Majesty’s Government Communications Centre) in Milton Keynes, ahead of the launch of this year’s application cycle. The apprenticeships on offer are Engineering Manufacture and Software.
The purpose of the event was to provide an introduction to the work carried out at the facility, with an opportunity to network with current apprentices and discover just what the role involves. Cyber Technology is a growth industry, giving apprentices the opportunity to work with the latest technology and equipment, work with software developers and cyber engineers who are among the best in their field.
Apprentices profit from learning new skills and gaining experience in a variety of computer languages and IT systems, whilst working with a variety of customers and system engineers. The information shared with our students throughout the event has provided much food for thought about the new and exciting areas of industry that their A Level studies are preparing them for.
