Following visits from St Andrews CEVA Primary School and Blackthorn Primary Academy, the final school to join us for our winter STEM Primary Outreach series was Weston Favell Primary School.
The youngsters experienced three workshops in Computer Science, Chemistry and Physics delivered by Ms Kerwick-Crisp, Miss Duncan and Mr Swallow.
During the workshops, the students were able to try some decoding, experiment with indicators and acids and alkalis as well as look at electricity and how our common household devices work.
After the workshops, whilst waiting for their mini-bus ride back to school, the children took the opportunity to rehearse their scene RSC performance of 'A Merchant of Venice' which forms part of the NPAT Academy Trust production at the Royal and Derngate, it was a pleasure to watch such talent.
The Nucleus STEM department at Northampton Academy will be running more opportunities in the summer for other local primary schools, keep an eye out for further details and dates.
Thank you to all the schools who attended and helped to make the workshops such a success, we hope we have helped to inspire some budding young scientists!
