On Thursday 28th April the Northampton Academy Sports Leaders welcomed Year 3 students from eight Cluster primary schools to participate in the Year 3 Multisport Festival. The leaders had committed time prior to the event to plan both the event logistics alongside the sessions they would be leading. When we learned a student with significant physical disabilities was attending, the leaders stepped up to the challenge, demonstrating a determination to organise sessions which were totally accessible to all students.
The event ran seamlessly, with Year 3 students enjoying Dodgeball, Handball, Tag Rugby, Fitness, and Team Building sessions. As always the NA leaders did both themselves and the school proud, demonstrating our character values in abundance. We look forward to furthering leadership opportunities across this term in cricket and our annual sports days.
Following the event, we received a lovely email from Abington Vale Primary School that said:
"I just wanted to pop you a little email to say thank you for today's event. The feedback from the adults and children was that it was brilliant, they all loved it. The adults said that they were especially impressed with your young leaders with Clara. They said that the leaders were enthusiastic, adaptable and generally fab with her and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. It's great that she has the same opportunities as everyone else."
