Tara Flight, Radiographer DCR (R), PgC LTHE, FHEA and lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire was the second professional of the year to present at one of Northampton Academy’s Year 12 ‘Breakfast With A Professional’ series.

Katie Kukla, Events and Schools Outreach Manager from ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music) visited Year 10 GCSE Music students today, to share information about the range of careers in the music industry, and the array of music courses available to study at the ACM.

Students and staff at Northampton Academy are celebrating after maintaining a ‘Good’ rating from Ofsted in a recent short inspection, with inspectors saying there is enough evidence to suggest the school could be ‘Outstanding’ in a full inspection.

Northampton Academy was delighted to welcome Olivia Taylor, a student from the University of Cambridge, currently in her second year reading Psychological and Behavioural Science at Clare College. In addition to her studies, Olivia is an ambassador for the Target Scheme, which aims to encourage students from under-represented groups to consider applying to Cambridge.

IT Girls Allowed is an event hosted and organised by Barclaycard, designed to inspire Key Stage3 girls to consider IT as one of their chosen subjects for GCSE, and possibly even a career in the field. A group of Year 9 students attended the event and enjoyed a day of information and challenges based around robotics, coding and encryption.
