Nuffield Research Placements are engaging, hands-on research projects, where students have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the work of a host organisation.
They are a fantastic opportunity for Year 12 students to apply skills and knowledge learned at school and work alongside researchers and industry professions. These placements also help young people to learn more about higher education and different careers paths.
Stacey Munday, Nuffield Coordinator for East Midlands provided a lunchtime information session for students studying STEM subjects. Year 13 students Anne-Marie and Ria-May, who successfully completed their placements last year were on hand to offer advice and encouragement to students to take up this valuable opportunity.
Our thanks to Stacey for her support. The names of those students completely this year’s programme will be shared later in the year. Any Year 12 student interested in applying (studying STEM subjects) should visit the Careers Office for advice and supporting literature.
