Teachers and staff at Northampton Academy celebrated National Careers Week by sharing their employment history and skills with students this week. It can be a challenge for young people to visualise the future, but by viewing the professional journeys of the teachers and staff they come into contact with every day, it is hoped that these insights will prove aspirational.
Many journeys started small with part-time employment, but through the development of employability skills, the staff at Northampton Academy have been able to evidence an interesting, diverse and successful transfer through the job market. Our thanks to all staff for sharing their job history.
Four members of the team from Hippo Digital, a cutting edge service design consultancy also visited the academy to deliver insights into their own careers to Year 10 GCSE Computer Science students. Job titles such as User Researcher, Content Designer, Technical Architect and Delivery Manager were explained and explored, aiming to open up careers our students may not have previously considered. Our thanks to Leah Thompson, Andy Sharkey, Dean Hanley & Brendan Farrer for their time and support.
