As part of our Community Matters programme, Northampton Academy staff, students and families supported Cynthia Spencer Hospice this Christmas by donating toys, games and books.
Cynthia Spencer Hospice staff held a Christmas Fair on 20th November and needed presents for Santa's Grotto. Funds generated from the Christmas Fair will be directed towards programmes that support family work with children who are losing a loved one. Donations will also be used to create memory boxes which include a teddy bear and a special quilt made from fabrics belonging to family members.
Jenny Standen, Charity Fundraiser said: "Thank you so much to the whole school for your fantastic collection of children’s gifts for the Cynthia Spencer Christmas Fair! We are bowled over. We estimate that the total value is about £850! These items will go to children to be loved; the money raised will ensure the hospice can continue to do its good work."
Christmas is a time of giving and we were delighted to support this very important event and we thank the staff and families who kindly made donations.
