To round off the celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week we invited Dale Powell, Assistant Social Value Manager from Engie, to speak to students from Year 10 and 12 who are looking to gain further insights into apprenticeships within the construction industry.
The apprenticeships are not constrained to the trades, there are quantity surveyor and business manager placements available also. Dale advised students to take up all offers of support and urged them to gain work experience as and when possible. Getting that foot in the door is essential in ensuring employers recognise the employability skills you can offer their company.
Our second lunchtime careers information session followed with Dale providing information to all students. In addition, Lance Corporal Connah Macleod joined us to share information on the range of careers available in the armed forces, and Devan Tyler-Bennett from JBC offered advice on how to access apprenticeships in Technical IT, Software Development and Cyber Security.
Our thanks to all our apprenticeship providers for their time and support over the week.
