Northampton Academy came alive once again for the last day of term, as students and staff celebrated My Culture Day, our annual event, designed to honour diversity, creativity, and community. Under the theme "One Community – Many Stories," the school hosted a day full of interactive lessons, cultural workshops, and vibrant performances.
The day included a series of specially planned lessons and activities that encouraged students to explore and reflect on cultural identity and shared values. One of the main highlights was the Bollywood Dance workshops, where students from Years 7 to 9 enthusiastically took part in high-energy dance sessions.
During Period 5, Year 11 were treated to a vibrant Fashion Show, organised by our Student Leadership Team. The show, linked to our Character Charter Promise, was a great success, and the Ghanaian team were triumphant winners.
The celebration didn’t end there, the Performing Arts team held an Open Mic Cultural Extravaganza, where students performed music, poetry, and spoken word pieces, showcasing the rich tapestry of cultures within the school community. Staff, students, and families gathered to enjoy the talent on display.
My Culture Day 2025 proved to be a joyful and impactful event, leaving a lasting impression on students and reinforcing the school’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, respect, and celebration of identity.
Thanks to Mr Anderson and the Student Leadership Team for all their hard work, making this event a great success.
