Nick
Freelance reporter at Daily Star Online and Daily Mirror Online
I left Northampton Academy in 2010 with three A Levels, having been inspired to go into journalism through a career talk with a local reporter. This led me to Northampton College where I got my Extended Diploma in Media Production.
Following this, during 2012 I went on to gain valuable experience in this field through various work experience placements, including Johnstone Press. I did some online contribution work for Weekend Notes, Total Football and Kettle Mag.
In August 2013 I had the opportunity to do work experience as a broadcast journalist for ITV, producing breaking news stories for online, packaging videos, shadowing TV presenters, reporters and camera operators. In September the same year, I landed the role as a reporter for Northants Herald and Post which I continued for just over three years.
Since November 2016 I have been developing scripts for NNBC 106.9FM daily news bulletins and presenting them, conducting recorded interviews, and editing clips.
In January 2017 I became a freelance reporter for the Daily Mirror and the Daily Star, producing online news stories for quick turnarounds, covering a wide range of topics from politics and crime to health and TV.
