Since finishing my GCSE’s at Northampton Academy back in 2010, I stayed on in Sixth From to complete my A Levels, studying Maths, Biology and Psychology. After achieving two As and a B, I went on to study Biological Sciences at the University of Birmingham. Towards the end of my degree I realised I didn’t want to pursue a career in research as initially planned, but instead wanted to enter the world of finance. I applied for hundreds of graduate schemes which provided training to become an accountant, and managed to secure a place on the Lloyds Banking Group graduate programme in 2015. The scheme I’m on is fantastic; it’s given me the opportunity to live in Bristol, London and currently Edinburgh, while experiencing different roles within the bank and supporting me through my training to qualify as a chartered accountant next year.
